Bridal Brunch

Changing the time of day is a great way to put that unique spin on your wedding. Bride to be Casey and her fiancé Alex are doing just that with their day time wedding on 3/7/15.

Me-Why did you decide to do a day "brunch" themed wedding?

Casey- We wanted the wedding to be different than everyone else. When people have an evening wedding the focus gets put more on the dance floor and open bar. We wanted it to be more of a family and friends celebration of our commitment to each than. Less like a night club.

Me- What elements do you think sets a day wedding apart from a night wedding ? Do you feel like the décor is more open or less of an option?

Casey- During the day we feel like we had more of a bright color palette to work with. There is the natural light from the sun verses artificial lighting and dj strobe lights.

Me- Do you think day time weddings really are more affordable?

Casey- We haven't noticed a huge difference in price. With the outdoor element to our wedding we don't need to pay for stage lighting with the DJ. Also, instead of an open bar we are doing our cocktail hour just with mimosas and bloody marys. This definitely saved us money

Me- What would you tell other brides (or grooms) to be that are considering a day wedding as well?

Casey- If you want the focus to be more on your life long commitment instead of hosting a party for everyone, consider a casual day wedding. We are personally going with a day time wedding for this reason. When we used to talk to friends about our wedding the first question was always "Is there an open bar". I didn't want that to be the focus.
